NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Sept 16: An alleged thief was killed in an exchange of fire with the inmates of a house in Gul Mohammad Buller village near Bhirya town early Sunday morning.

Three thieves barged into the house of Mohammad Ramzan but the inmates woke up and offered resistance which led to an exchange of fire. In the shootout, a thief later identified as Gul Sher, 50, was killed but his accomplices escaped.

An FIR was lodged at the Bhirya police station.

CLASH: Six men were injured when two groups of Zardari clansmen exchanged fire on Bandhi road in Moro on Sunday.

Ghulam Mustafa Zardari, a businessman, was present at his shop when Lahno, Kehar Zardari and others came there and beat up him. In the meantime, supporters of Ghulam Mustafa reached there and both the groups exchanged fire.

As a result, Ghulam Rasool, Khan Mohammad, Qurban and Aachar of the Ghulam Mustafa group and Lahno and Kehar of the Lahno group were injured. They were taken to the Moro Taluka Hospital where they were admitted.

Both the groups have lodged cases against each other.

The Moro police confirmed the incident and said that the cause of the clash was a land dispute.

Later, around 50 supporters of Ghulam Mustafa, including children, staged a protest demonstration outside the Moro Press Club. They alleged that the rival group had kidnapped the injured Ghulam Rasool who was later recovered by the police.

CASE: A restaurant owner and his two accomplices have been booked for beating a waiter to death.

Abdul Ghafoor Abro, 26, a waiter at the restaurant of Haji Manzoor Soomro in Tharu Shah, was beaten up by some men on Friday. On Saturday evening, Ghafoor felt pain and his father-in-law took him to a private clinic. After getting medical treatment, Ghafoor stayed at a relative’s house where he died on Saturday night.

The complainant, Muhram Abro, the father-in-law of the deceased, alleged in FIR that Ghafoor was beaten up at the instigation of the restaurant owner to force him to repay the money he had obtained in advance.

The police confirmed on telephone that a murder case had been lodged against Manzoor Soomro, Niaz and Mughal Solangi. However, no arrest was made till the filing of this report.
