HYDERABAD, Sept 15: The relatives of deceased Fateh Mohammad Brohi and villagers of goth Akbar Khan staged a protest demonstration outside the Hyderabad press club here on Saturday to protest against what they called murder of Fateh Mohammad Brohi at the hands of the police.
Fateh Mohammad was killed in an alleged fake police encounter within the jurisdiction of Market police a few days ago.
Talking to reporters, the father of the deceased, Saeed Khan, alleged that his son had been killed in a fake encounter.
He said his son was arrested by police, tortured and then killed.
He claimed that according to the post-mortem report, his son was shot dead from a close range. He said he would file a petition in the Sindh High Court against the alleged murder of his son.
BUS TERMINAL: District Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jamil said that with the setting up of bus terminal, people will be saved from massive traffic jams and encroachments in the city which have become a nuisance for public.
He was presiding over a meeting at his secretariat in connection with the establishment of a bus terminal here on Saturday.
DCO Aftab Ahmed Khatri, nazim city taluka Javed Jabbar, TMO city Asadullah Rajput, project consultant Shafi Mohammad Lakho and other officials of the district government attended the meeting.
He directed for the construction of a shopping mall and a recreational park for children at the under-construction bus terminal which was being established on over nine acres of land.
He said the project would not only facilitate the citizens but also generate income for the city taluka.
He pointed that the bus terminal was being constructed on the National Highway which was quite near the city where a trauma centre was also being constructed.
Mr Jamil directed that the project should be completed as soon as possible.
The nazim city taluka, Javed Jabbar, said that 9.39 acres of land had been earmarked for the bus terminal which would serve 1,500 to 3,000 buses and will have enough space for parking of 60 air-conditioned coaches and 150 non-air conditioned buses.
He said a large space would be available for general parking purpose.
He said the fully air-conditioned shopping mall will have 240 shops.
