Published September 15, 2007

MULTAN, Sept 14: District Nazim Mian Faisal Mukhtar has said a dual carriageway would be constructed from Aziz Hotel to Cantt Railway Station with the collaboration of Pakistan Railways and a model Chowk would also be built near Aziz Hotel to facilitate the masses.

He said this during his meeting with PR Divisional Engineer-I Rizwanul Haq Hashmi here on Friday. He said a town hospital and school would be constructed near Double Phatik that would lessen health and education problems of adjoining areas. He said the hospital would be equipped with modern operation theatre, X-ray and ultrasound machines and would remain open round the clock.

He said the city district government would provide saplings to Pakistan Railways that would be planted along the track from Cantt Railway Station to Sher Shah Railway Station.

Engineer Haq said that Pakistan Railways would install a screen in Aziz Hotel Chowk to display arrival and departure times of trains.

He said pedestrian’s bridges would be constructed over the track at various places including Janazgah, Mumtazabad and Keeri Jammandan.

The district nazim also directed Wasa Director Works Malik Tassaduq Hussain to bring in order those sewerage pipelines that were creating problems for Pakistan Railways.
