MIRPURKHAS, Sept 14: At least nine oxygen cylinders have been stolen from the Mirpurkhas Civil Hospital.

This discovery was made by civil surgeon Dr Roshan Ali Bhatti when he collected the cylinders at a place on Friday and found that nine of them were missing. There were 42 oxygen cylinders in the hospital.

Dr Bhatti has ordered an inquiry into the theft and appointed a four-member team of doctors, headed by additional civil surgeon Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed, for this purpose.

The civil surgeon told journalists that those found involved in the theft would face legal as well as departmental action.

IJT PROTEST: Islami Jamiat Tulaba activists staged a demonstration in Digri on Friday to protest against the killing of what he called IJT workers in Karachi.

Led by Yaseen Mughal, the protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with different slogans. They demanded of the government to ensure arrest of those involved in the killings and accused the All Pakistan Muhajir Students’ Organisation of involvement in the deadly attack on a passenger wagon outside the Karachi University.
