Four women injured in police raid

KHAIRPUR, Sept 13: Four women were injured late on Wednesday night when they put up resistance to the police’s attempt to arrest one of their relative in Ghulam Hussain Samtio village.

Reports said that Sobhodero police led by its SHO Abdul Malik Kamangar broke into the house of one Arz Mohammad Samtio to arrest him but they met stiff resistance by women. Police beat women and were beaten up in return. As a result, Ms Husna, Ms Zaibunnisa, Ms Hajiani and Sanam and SHO and two constables sustained injuries.

The villagers alleged that police were in the habit of arresting innocent villagers and snatching valuable items from their houses. Police said that they conducted the raid after getting a tip-off that two criminals were hiding in the house.
