LAHORE, Sept 12: The forthcoming Punjab Games to be held in Lahore from Oct 27 to 29 will comprise competitions for men and women in some 18 disciplines.

According to the Secretary Punjab Olympic Association (POA) Khawaja Idris Haider, the men will be competing in 15 sports including athletics, badminton, boxing, gymnastics, swimming, wrestling, basketball, cycling, hockey, karate, baseball, kabaddi, wushu, volleyball and bodybuilding while the women will feature in athletics, cycling and badminton.

Idris also said that a three-member committee had been formed to resolve the Punjab Judo Association (PJA) issue. The PJA had been suspended by the POA some three months ago due to an unconstitutional act by their officials.

It was also announced that the Punjab Games would be followed by the Paralympics Games from Oct 30.
