KARACHI, March 16: At a protest demonstration held at Regal Chowk on Saturday against the killing of doctors the Sindh government was criticized for its failure to arrest the killers of doctors and to protect the lives of doctors and of the people.

Most of the protesters were doctors. The demonstration, organized by the Action Committee for Civic Problems (ACCP), was attended by members of the Pakistan Medical Association, Pakistan Dental Council and Pakistan Labour Federation.

Placards carried by demonstrators also criticized the intelligence agencies for not making any tangible progress towards apprehending the persons responsible for the targeted killing of doctors and others.

The President of the Pakistan Dental Council, Karachi, Dr Agha Javed, urged the government to take measures for the security of the people and compensation to the families of those killed.

The Chairman of the ACCP, Baseer Naveed, held the Sindh government responsible for the targeted killings in the city.

The ACCP called a meeting of concerned citizens and organizations in the PMA House on Wednesday, where an action plan for improving the situation would be discussed.
