HYDERABAD, Sept 10: Speaking at protest demonstrations here on Monday, the leaders of Jamaat-i-Islami and Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party termed the enforced exile of Nawaz Sharif a flagrant violation of constitution, fundamental human rights and the decision of Supreme Court.Activists of the two parties protested in Hyderabad, Nawabshah and several other towns of the province against Mr Sharif’s exile and arrest of Dr Qadir Magsi, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Asfandyar Wali, Qazi hussian Ahmed and Maulana Fazlur Rehman who had gathered in Islamabad to accord a warm welcome to the PML-N leader.

STP workers observed complete shutter-down strike throughout Qasimabad taluka in protest against the arrest of their leader while STP leader Hoat Khan Gadhi condemned the enforced exile of Nawaz Sharif and the arrest of leaders of various political parties at an urgent meeting at Taraqqi Pasand House.

The meeting termed the government’s action a flagrant violation of the constitution, fundamental human rights and the decision of the Supreme Court.

The rulers’ days were numbered and arrests, violence and false cases could not stop the movement from its struggle, the meeting said while supporting call for black day on Tuesday given by the APDM.

Jamaat-i-Islami leaders Asadullah Bhutto, Abdul Waheed Qureshi and Shaikh Shaukat Ali who led a demonstration outside the press club termed the exile a flagrant violation of the Supreme Court orders.

They stressed that the government had no power to stop Nawaz Sharif or any other Pakistani from returning to their country and accused Gen Musharraf and other generals of violating the constitution and law.

They condemned the arrest of leaders of various political parties and appealed to people to observe black day and complete strike on Tuesday.

Our Nawabshah correspondent adds: Activists of JI staged a demonstration outside the press club against the exile of PML-N leader and arrest of political leaders.

Naib JI Amir of Sindh, Mumtaz Sehto, said that the American agents had held 160 million people of the country hostage, and they were not allowing its citizens to return home.

Students boycotted classes in different colleges in protest against the arrest of STP chief Dr Qadir Magsi in Islamabad and demanded early release of their leader.
