LAHORE, Sept 8: Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Chief Operating Officer (COO) Shafqat Naghmi will be leaving for South Africa on Sunday morning following the brawl between Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif which has greatly upset the players and have dented Pakistan’s chances in the ICC event.

According to sources, Naghmi was to originally depart for South Africa on Tuesday but was advised by the chairman to fly out earlier in order to take control of the disciplinary situation prior to the start of the Twenty20 World Cup commencing Sept 11.

Meanwhile, sources said that the PCB chairman had also stopped media director Ahsan Hameed Malik from issuing any press statement on the matter.
