39 Indian fishermen arrested

KARACHI, March 15: The Maritime Security Agency on Friday night arrested 39 Indian fishermen on the charge of fishing in Pakistani waters, the officials said.

Docks police said the MSA seized six launches and arrested 39 Indian fishermen and handed them over to Docks police, who registered FIR 28/2002 against the fishermen and booked under relevant sections of the law.

The police said the Indian fishermen were fishing 60 nautical miles from Karachi in the Pakistani waters, when they were apprehended.
