LAKKI MARWAT, Sept 6: As many as 24,375 children between five and seven years of age are estimated to be enrolled in schools during a campaign which has been launched in the area by the National Commission for Human Development on Sept 1.
This was said by Aamir Mohammad Khattak, district programme manager (education) of the NCHD, on Thursday.
“The age-wise target of schoolchildren for the enrolment campaign is 24,375 out of which 10,861 are boys and 13,514 are girls,” he elaborated.
He said that schoolteachers had been motivated to hold separate meetings with parents and community members to make the drive a success.
Mr Khattak expressed the hope that school administrations would not face any difficulty during the campaign as all the primary schools in the district had an updated record of children between five and seven years of age according to the universal education programme registers.
The district general manager of the NCHD and local officials of the Schools and Literacy department would monitor the drive and assist teachers in achieving the target, he said.
