NOWSHERA: Heroin seized; one arrested

NOWSHERA, Sept 6: Police on Thursday seized 11 kilogram of heroin and arrested an Afghan national on the charges of carrying contraband.

District Superintendent Police Gulzar Khan told journalists that a car was stopped at a checkpoint at Jehangira east of the Nowshera town. During the search heroin was found in secret cavities of the vehicle.

The DSP claimed that the arrested person, Awal Khan, had told the investigators that he was a carrier.

Police have registered a case and started investigation.
