KHAR, Sept 5: A Baitul Maal official suffered serious injuries in a bomb blast near here and a tribal elder survived a roadside explosion in the Inayet Kali area on Wednesday.

Witnesses said Mahmood Jan, in-charge of the Baitul Maal, was going to his office when the remote-controlled bomb went off near his office. He was taken to Peshawar.

Sources said the tribal elder, Malik Taj Khan, was passing by the Lagharai Road in his jeep when an explosive device went off, slightly damaging the vehicle. He remained unhurt.
