RAWALPINDI, Sept 5: An anti-terrorism court here on Wednesday sent a suspect in the two bomb blasts in Islamabad to Adiala jail on a 14-day judicial remand.

The court also issued show-cause notice to the jail superintendent for not producing two other suspects in the court in the same case.

Tehseen Abbasi was sent to jail by the judge after police sought his identification parade in prison. The capital police suspected his alleged involvement in the two bomb blasts; one at Islamabad district courts on July 17 in which 17 people were killed and the other at Aabpara Market on July 27 which claimed 14 lives.

According to the police he was arrested from the jurisdiction of Bhara Kahu police station on August 31. A special jacket used in suicide attack was seized from him and he was also booked under 3 and 4 explosive act of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The judge also took serious notice of the absence of two other suspects, Faisal Mushtaq and Qasim Mushtaq, from the court. He served show-cause notice on the jail superintendent and asked him to explain as to why the accused were not produced in the court. The hearing was then adjourned till September 19.

According to the police the two brothers, residents of Kotli Sattian, were arrested from the area of Bhara Kahu police station and FIR, under sections 3 and 4 of the explosive act of Pakistan Penal Code, was registered with the police station on August 22.
