KARACHI, March 14: Over 80 PPP workers, including some top leaders, were arrested by police on Thursday when they tried to take out a procession against the Thal Canal Project.

The PPP leaders had asked the workers to reach Bilawal House on Thursday morning to take out the procession against the canal project.

When contacted by Dawn, a spokesman for the police on Thursday claimed that some 80 PPP men, including some leaders, had been arrested under the MPO, at Bilawal House, Quaidabad, and Ghaggar Phatak.

However, a PPP leader said that over a hundred PPP workers and leaders had been arrested.
