Benazir flays doctors’ killing

Published March 15, 2002

ISLAMABAD, March 14: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Benazir Bhutto, has criticized the present government over its failure to maintain law and order situation in the country.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, Ms Bhutto said at least 25 innocent people had been killed in a month which was quite alarming.

Referring to the law and order situation in Karachi, she said the recent wave of violence showed that the present government had failed to maintain the supremacy of law in the country.

She said such incidents had created fear among the people who considered themselves insecure, while government officials were only issuing statements.
