Eye camp in Khyber Agency

PESHAWAR, Sept 1: A one-day eye camp was set up in the Surkamar village of Khyber Agency under the supervision of the directorate of health services, Fata.

Dr Uzma, along with her team of ophthalmologists, medical officers and ophthalmic technicians, took part in the camp.

The people of the area were given lectures on the prevention and management of adenoviral conjunctivitis, an eye ailment. Medicines were also provided to them free of cost.

The Khyber Agency surgeon, Dr Zaman Khattak, ADHO, Dr Shakeel, and other doctors also visited the camp.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Uzma, in charge of the Eye Care Programme, FATA, said it was the first initiative aimed at providing every type of eye care to the patients, including provision of free medicines, free surgeons and education regarding preventive measures.—APP
