QUETTA, Aug 29: Security personnel on Thursday arrested two suspected members of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) from the border town Chaman. According to official sources, Habibullah and Ismail Baloch had crossed into Pakistan from Afghanistan through an infrequent route late on Wednesday night and were arrested by security men deployed in the area.

“We have taken them into custody for their alleged links with the BLA,” the sources said, adding that the suspects had been living in Kandahar and were returning to Pakistan when they were caught.

Both men were sent to the provincial capital on Thursday and handed over to authorities concerned for interrogation, the sources said.

Some people said the suspects belonged to the Afghan province of Farah. However, official sources confirmed that they were Pakistanis.
