KARACHI, Aug 28: Four ships carrying containers and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, two more ships with containers and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy was maintained at 80 per cent as eight ships, Dymphna, Maersk Virginia, Anna-a, Arctic Voyager, Chemstar Brave, Keefan, Ben Alcha and Iguana-a, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rapeseeds, diesel oil, chemicals and coal.

A cargo volume 66,648 tons comprising 58,964 tons of import and 7,684 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Keefan and Chemstar Brave left the port while Dymphna and Maersk Virginia were due to depart.
