BADIN, Aug 27: The Sindh Chief Minister, Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, has said that that former rulers had betrayed the people and preferred personal interests, forcing the masses to brave hard days.

Addressing a public meeting at Tando Bago on Monday, he said it was the PML government that has almost completed its tenure which is unprecedented in country’s history.

He said that those appearing now before the people were unable to purchase a motorcycle, but after entering the governments became the owners of sugar mills and settled in London.

He warned the people of more disaster if the same old faces were given an opportunity to rule the country.

The Sindh CM said masses were the best judge and hoped that PML-Q would receive a good response from the people in the general elections because of the services it had rendered to them.

Dr Arbab Rahim said that his government always focused on provincial issues including provincial autonomy, provision of water and education and health in the province.

He said that Badin-Tando Bago, Jhudo roads were being widened by 24 feet and a network of roads in the district was being laid to connect village-to-village and markets.

He announced lined construction of the Padhar minor and said that government was committed to construct 500 pucca distributaries in the province, in order to save wastage of irrigation water.

He pledged to serve the masses till last moment and pursue development activities in the province.

He announced Rs1 million for purchasing of books, computers and other items for Tando Bago library.

Responding to people’s demand, he said that people of Badin district would hear a good news of waiving of Zarai Taraqiati Bank loan within two weeks.

Earlier, Syed Ali Bux Shah alias Papoo Shah narrated the problems of the district and said that the people of Badin were with him.

The District Nazim, Ali Anwar Halepoto, demanded of the chief minister to fix a share of district government in the royalty of oil and gas. He also demanded special package for education and health.

Among others, Mohammad Aslam Rahu and Azizullah Dero also spoke on the occasion.

The chief minister, on the way to Tando Bago also addressed public gathering at Khorwah, Golarchi and Badin.
