KARACHI, Aug 27: Eight ships carrying containers, raw jute and to load cement are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was active where about a dozen ships, notably Pacific Arrow, Soon Fu, Oel Spku, Western Star, Wan Hai-303, Ever Govern, Jo Oak, Fatima Ana and Wadi al-Rayan were berthed to unload and load containers and general cargo during the last two days.

Sailing was also active as half a dozen ships including Iran Tabatabei, Corn Thaikos, Soon Fu and Asian Queen departed, while Western Star, Wadi al-Rayan, Ever Govern, Jo Oak and Oil Spirit are due to sail out on Tuesday.

A total tonnage of 0.155m tons comprising 63,950 tons of export cargo and 91,050 tons of import tonnage was handled during the last two days.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Morning Hope and Ibn Batouta to load 15,000 and 7,000 tons of cement, Banglar Mookh with 9,986 tons of raw jute, Kota Delima, Kapitan Byaukin and APL Brkhour.
