Scattered rain likely

LAHORE, Aug 26: The Met office has forecast scattered rain and thunderstorm for the city during the next 24 hours.

Weather pundits say a seasonal low lies over Balochistan and a monsoon current from Arabian Sea is reaching Punjab.

The climatic situation is likely to cause a few showers, accompanied by thunderstorm, in Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi and Sargodha. However, mainly dry weather will persist in all other divisions of the province.

In Lahore, maximum temperature on Sunday was 35.2 degrees C while the minimum was 26 degrees C, with relative humidity was 78 per cent in the morning and 58 per cent in the evening.

In DG Khan, maximum temperature was 38.8 degrees C, Jhelum 34.7, Bahawalpur 37.5, Multan 38.2, Sargodha and Mianwali 38.5, Okara 39.2, Murree 23.3, Faisalabad and Khanpur 38, Sialkot 32.8, Mandi Bahauddin 34.8, Bahawalnagar 40.5, and in Rahim Yar Khan it was 39.7 degrees C.

Meanwhile, Murree received 3mm of rain and Lahore below 1mm.

According to Flood Forecasting Division report, Indus at Sukkur and Ravi at Balloki are in low flood, while Chitral River at Chitral is in high flood with inflow 16,500 cusecs.—APP
