MCB Bank announces dividend

KARACHI, Aug 24: The board of directors of MCB Bank has announced 25 per cent cash dividend for the half year ended June 30, 2007.

The board in its meeting held here on Thursday also approved the financial results which showed that the after tax profit of the bank jumped by 33.47 per cent to Rs7.663 billion during the period under review, according to a press release issued on Friday.

The earning per share improved to Rs12.20 from Rs9.67. The assets of the bank grew by Rs42 billion during the six months.

The major increase had been witnessed in investment portfolio which increased by Rs51 billion from December 2006 and stood at Rs114 billion. Gross loans and advances marginally decreased and stood at Rs203 billion. Deposits grew by Rs44 billion at Rs301 billion.
