ISLAMABAD, Aug 23: The final of the 3rd National Women’s Football Championship between Sports Sciences Club of Lahore and the visiting Afghan team will be taking place at Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex, at 5.00pm on Friday.

Federal Minister for Environment, Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, will be the chief guest on the occasion.

The same day at 7.30am, Balochistan and Diya FC, Karachi, will line up for the third position playoff.

Earlier in the semi-finals on Wednesday, Afghanistan beat Balochistan by a solitary goal. Afghan skipper Shumaila kicked home the all-important goal in the 13th minute.

Meanwhile, Sports Sciences Club of Lahore ousted a fighting Diya FC, Karachi, 2-1 on penalty kicks after a goalless draw. —APP
