N. Areas budget copies torn

Published August 24, 2007

GILGIT, Aug 23: A treasury member of the Northern Areas Legislative Council, Muzaffar Ali Relay, tore copies of the Northern Areas budget statement during the second day of the budget session for the fiscal year 2007-08 on Thursday.

“There is no use of presenting the budget after the lapse of two months of the general budget session as the NAs administration has already utilised 20 per cent of the allocation without getting approval from the house,” said Mr Relay, a member of the ruling PML. Opposition members supported the contention of Mr Relay.—Correspondent
