QUETTA, Aug 21: A powerful explosion shook a residential colony in the Brewery Road area here on Tuesday night, police said.

Police sources said unknown people had planted an explosive device along a wall of the house of Saeed Ahmed in Killi Tirkha that went off with a bang causing panic in the area.

The wall was damaged and windowpanes of many nearby houses were smashed. “It was a homemade device,” police said, adding that no casualty was reported.

Another blast caused damage to a wall and windowpanes of the house of another resident Malik Bangalzai in the same area.
