LARKANA, Aug 21: Ten people from a flood affected village of Qambar town filed a petition in the court of district and sessions judge of Qambar-Shahdadkot on Tuesday accusing the district coordination officer and naib nazim of the union council Dost Ali of misappropriating relief funds.

The petitioners, including Abdul Rasool Khoso, Karimdad Janveri and Shah Murad Chandio, said that the DCO of Qambar-Shahdadkot and naib nazim of the union council, Zulfiqar Shabrani, listed the names of their favourites among the flood affectees who had not suffered any losses. The court adjourned the case to Aug 31.

SEMINAR: District Naib Nazim Syed Ali Raza Shah Rashdi on Tuesday stressed the need for creating awareness about the HIV/AIDS and urged to the NGOs to organise seminars at union council level so that the illiterate people could understand and save themselves from the deadly disease.

He said in address at a seminar on “Reproductive Right and HIV/AIDS” jointly organised by the National Trust for Population Welfare and Mehran Welfare Trust that it was collective duty of society to keep people abreast of precautions against HIV/AIDS.

MURDER: One Peeral Chandio shot dead his son, Ghulam Rasool Chandio, 28, in his house in Bahar Chandio village in the Drigh police station’s limits on Tuesday.

Reports said that the father flew into a rage and killed his son after he slapped his step-mother.
