SWABI: Pukhtuns’ unity urged

Published August 22, 2007

SWABI, Aug 21: The Awami National Party has said that an international conspiracy has been hatched against the Pukhtun to weaken them economically and financially.

Addressing a public meeting on Tuesday, the ANP leaders said that a continuing war in the Pukhtun region would even affect their coming generations.

Former MNA Rehmanullah said the Pukhtun were a peaceful nation, but when faced with threat, they could scarify everything for their dignity and honour.

MPA Ameer Rehman said that those who invaded the Pukhtun belt the area became a graveyard for them, adding that one should go through history to know the facts.

“This is time for the Pukhtun leaders to shun their differences and come close to each other, foiling plans to weaken them,” he said.—Correspondent
