LAHORE, Aug 18: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has said that his party will field candidates in all the four provinces during the forthcoming general election. In a telephonic address to the Punjab MQM Workers Convention at the Alhamra Art Centre here on Saturday evening, Mr Altaf said adjustments with other political parties would be made in consultation with the people of different areas.

The MQM chief said the return of former prime ministers Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif was being discussed everywhere in the country, but nobody was talking about his return.

He said the MQM’s detractors had launched a vilification campaign in Punjab, but the party’s workers had given a ‘befitting reply’ by attending the convention in droves.

He said the problems of the masses were not being solved because of a hereditary political system dominated by the feudal lords who were not even aware of the common man’s misery.
