Two men killed in cold blood

HYDERABAD, Aug 18: Two men were killed in cold blood in separate incidents in the of City police station’s area on Saturday, raising the number of people killed since Friday to three.

Iqbal Hussain Zaidi, who owned and ran the Green House Five Star High School off Tilak Incline was found murdered in his house on the upper story of the school building in the wee hours.

No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report as the family had left for Karachi for his burial in Wadi-i-Hussain off Super Highway.

Late Zaidi was living alone in the school while his wife and children were residing in Karachi. A police source said that the murder took place at around 1 am, and suspected one of the neighbours of the crime.

The body was moved to Civil Hospital for autopsy and then handed over to the family. It bore marks knife injuries on the neck, head and chest and signs the assailants had tied late Zaidi with a big rope before torturing him death.

“He has been tortured to death. No evidence has been found so far that suggests any injuries from firearms during the preliminary investigations,” said the SHO of city police station, Amir Jafri.

Police were awaiting arrival of his wife from Karachi to register the case but as soon as she arrived she took the body to Karachi after funeral prayers in Unit-9 Latifabad Imambargah.

In another incident, Imran, a dealer in electronic items who was in his early 30s, was stabbed to death in his flat on the fourth floor of Jilani Plaza in the jurisdiction of City police station.

A police source said that four people including a woman had entered Imran’s flat on the pretext of administering polio drops and held his wife hostage.

The source said that the wife had told her parents that the assailants had told her that they would wait for Imran and leave after killing him. When he arrived the assailants killed him with a dagger, she said.

FIRE: A fire broke out in M.K. Enterprises, a cotton factory, near Fateh Chowk in the jurisdiction of Site police station early on Saturday morning and took over five hours five to extinguish.

There was no report of any loss of life or injury form the fire. The TPO of Site, Irfan Mukhtar Bhutto, said that the fire broke out in the factory’s waste.

LUMHS: Additional controller of examinations, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, here on Saturday announced that viva voce/practical of second professional MBBS of Forensic Medicine subject would be held on Aug 21, whereas the practical/viva voce of Pharmacology and Theraputics would commence from Aug 25.
