LAHORE, Aug 16: A division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Punjab, to submit a report and parawise comments on the bail application of Muhammad Arshad, who is a sub-inspector (SI) at Lytton Road Police Station.

NAB said Arshad was caught taking illegal gratification from a man on May 23. But Arshad contended that he was trapped. He said he arrested cell phone snatchers Adnan and Dilawar, who revealed during investigation that Ahsan Raza was the head of their gang. He said that Raza asked him to meet him because he wanted to give him evidence against a criminal gang.

Arshad said that Raza framed him by telling NAB that he was to meet a cop, who was blackmailing him for money. He said Raza gave him an envelope, he thought contained evidence, but had money in it, and NAB arrested him immediately. He said he was suffering from Hepatitis C, but he was being denied treatment in custody.
