MIRPURKHAS, Aug 16: The additional district and sessions judge-I Mirpurkhas on Thursday granted 12 days to the investigation officer in Mannu Bheel’s family kidnapping case.

Investigating Officer SPO Abid Kaimkhani submitted an application under section 344 Cr.PC, seeking 15 days time to make investigations from the accused.

Besides Raju Bheel, an accused, was produced before Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Digri Nadeem Badar Qazi by the SPO, requesting the court to grant remand of Man Singh Bheel and Raju Bheel for investigation.

The court remanded Man Singh Bheel in judicial custody for seven days while Raju Bheel was remanded to police custody for one week.

However, also issued show cause notice to IO, requiring him to explain why he kept accused Raju for 24 hours in police custody without remand before producing him before the court. The IO had been asked to explain why he produced Raju Bheel before the court on Aug 12 when he had arrested him on Aug 10. The magistrate asked since he had violated the law why a case under sections 220 Cr.PC may not be lodged against him. He had to submit reply within seven days.
