KARACHI, Aug 16: Dacoits looted over Rs9.7 million in two bank robberies on Thursday morning in separate parts of the city. Police said Rs6.5 million was looted from a branch of the Dubai Islami Bank in Gulshan-i-Iqbal. They said the guard of a private security company, Gulzar, who was posted at the bank, was involved in the robbery.

Police said Gulzar came to the bank in the morning along with two accomplices and when the bank staff arrived, the culprits held them hostage and looted the cash.

In another bank robbery, four dacoits looted Rs3.218m from the Picic Commercial Bank in Saudabad.
