KARACHI, Aug 15: A key figure in the Lyari gang war and two other gangsters were killed and two people, including a police official, were injured in an exchange of fire in Kalakot on Wednesday, police and witnesses said.

Police claimed that Majeed Speed, an Iranian Baloch, with a reward money of Rs1 million, and one of his accomplices, Hasan Mohajir, were killed in Gul Mohammadi Lane during a shootout with police.

DIG Syed Javed Ali Shah Bukhari told Dawn that an armoured personnel carrier (APC) also came under rocket attack and was partially damaged during the operation.

The injured were identified as Aslam, Kalakot SHO, and Ilyas, a gangster.
