GUJRANWALA, Aug 15: A man who allegedly refused to compound the murder of his brother was shot dead allegedly by the murder suspects in Qila Dedar Singh on Wednesday.

Riasat’s brother Manzoor Dogal was murdered allegedly by Shah Nawaz Malhi and accomplices a few months ago and he was prosecuting the case.

The Model Town police arrested all murder suspects except Malhi who was later declared a proclaimed offender.

Malhi was allegedly pressing Riasat to reconcile and stop pursuing the case against him, but he refused to do so.

On Wednesday, Riasat was sitting at his shop in the grain market where Malhi along with accomplice Naeem Akram and others came and shot him dead.

The police sent the body for an autopsy and registered a case.

Meanwhile, commission agents of the grain market protested Riasat’s murder, and demanded early arrest of the accused.
