LAHORE, Aug 10: The Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) said on Friday that the Asian Tour Pakistan Open will be played from Jan 24 to 27. However, PGF is yet to decide the venue for the prestigious event.

Meanwhile, PGF said as many as 20 tournaments will be played between August 2007 and May 2008.

Among the tournaments planned to be held at various golf courses across the country, some 15 have already been confirmed, while the decision about five international competitions will be taken after response from the foreign players.

The season is already underway with the commencement of the Chief of Naval Staff Golf Championship at the Karachi Golf Club on Friday.

Other tournaments that will follow include the Sindh Open at the Arabian Sea Country Club, Karachi (Aug 17 to 19), Gymkhana Open at the Lahore Gymkhana (Sept 7 to 9), Garrison Open at the Garrison Club (Nov 2 to 4), Punjab Open at Gujranwala (Nov 9 to 11), ABL at Faisalabad (Nov 18 to 20), Hyderabad Open at Hyderbad (Dec 7 to 9), Crescent Open at Faisalabad (Jan 4 to

6, 2008), Multan Open at

Multan (Feb 15 to 17), Faysal Bank Open at Lahore (Feb 22 to 24), CJSC Open (venue undecided) from Feb 29 to March 2, Prime Minister Open at Rawalpindi (March 7 to 9), Col-In-Chief Ibex Open at Sargodha (March 21 to 23), Allama Iqbal Open at Sialkot (March 28 to 30), Royal Palm Classic at Lahore (April 3 to 6), CAS Open at the PAF Club (April 11 to 13), Frontier Open at the PAF Club (May 2 to 4).

The venue of the national amateur championship to be held from April 17 to 20 is yet to be decided.
