One killed in accident

ATTOCK, Aug 10: A man died and eight others were injured in a road accident in the jurisdiction of Jand police station. The incident happened on Thursday evening when a coach, coming from Kalidali, over turned at a railway crossing near Uchari village.

As a result, Mohammad Asif died on the spot while eight other passengers including three women Gulab Bibi, Zubaida Bibi and Khatton Bibi sustained injuries, who were rushed to a local hospital Meanwhile, three persons were injured in two incidents of scuffle.

Police said Zaheerudddin and his son Samiuddin were attacked with iron rods and injured allegedly by a wagon driver Mohammad Azam and conductor Qasim, while a farmer Jumma Khan was injured allegedly by his rivals Dilawar Khan, Ayub and Yasir over a land dispute.— Correspondent
