LAHORE: No spending without Nazim

LAHORE, March 11: Acting on a directive from the chief executive/president, the Finance Department has made the sanction of the district nazim mandatory for all expenditure by the district government.

A letter written by the deputy secretary (Budget), to the district Nazims and district coordination officers says, the chief executive/ president had directed that “notwithstanding the DCOs continuing to be the principal accounting officers, all expenditures in the districts must be sanctioned by the district Nazims.”—Reporter
