LAHORE, Aug 8: A daredevil accused on Wednesday tortured the petitioner on the premises of the Lahore High Court after Justice Hasnat Ahmad Khan cancelled his bail in an earlier case of beating up the same complainant.

Hajran Bibi of Khara village in Mustafabad police station jurisdiction, Kasur, told journalists that investigation officer sub-inspector Rana Akhtar also manhandled her instead of arresting accused Rasheed who fled from the scene.

The elderly woman said she had been running a seminary for children at the village for the last 40 years. Rasheed occupied the seminary by force around a week ago and tortured her when she resisted, she alleged.

Mills’ case: The Supreme Court has directed issuance of notices to respondents on writ petitions filed by the Pakistan Environmental Law Association and the local community as well as by the SCBA.
