LAHORE, Aug 4: Three-year-old colt, The Senator, who was beaten on July 29 last looks poised to win the feature event to be gone over 900m when the 14th day/night Lahore Summer Meeting gets under way at the Racecourse on Sunday.

After remaining off the track since March last, The Senator ran thrice on July 1, July 15 and July 29 finishing third behind Royal Fish and Simbi under a weak jockey M. Zeeshan. He has now gone out on a try out run and is in fine fettle to strike, if his owner-trainer and jockey trio combine well.

His close rivals could be the filly Discovery and Richy Dancer. In all eight runners have accepted for the sixth and the last race, the Badami Bagh Plate, class V division 1, handicap race.

Five-year-old gelding, Perfect Promise, who registered two facile victories, one after the other in June and July, will be on the course to complete a hat trick of wins in the fifth and supporting event to be contested over 900m.

Chestnut colt Tyson, the fillies Shah Pari and Pretty Princess will be his main challengers, among nine acceptors for the class V division II event.

Bay mare Royal Victory, who had to her credit an easy win on July 29 will be vying for supremacy in the fourth race, which has the biggest field of 13 runners. Ahsan The Great, Blue Fire and Valentino may fight for the less remunerative positions.

Red-roan colt High Hope after a fluent victory Sunday last will be on course to make it two in a row when contesting in the third race.

He will have to face a strong challenge from the in form filly Shah Rani, Dam Dama Dam and Mannan Prince to make his task difficult.

Bird Fly, Mahima and Royal Palace look good in the second race to decide about the winner. They should finish in the same order.
