KARACHI, Aug 3: Trussed up body of a man was found in a gunny bag in North Karachi. The body was lying at a desolate place near the Education Grammar School at Sector M-5. Bilal Colony police shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy.

Hospital sources said that the skull of the victim, whose identity could not be ascertained, bore a fatal wound probably by a blunt weapon. There were also several marks of torture on the body, they said.

They said that the hands and feet of the victim, appeared to be in his mid thirties, were tied with adhesive tape and his right arm and ribcage bore marks of severe torture. The body was later shifted to Edhi morgue for want of identification.

Gangsters held

Police on Friday held three members of Mashooq Brohi gang while two of their accomplices managed to escape.

According to police, those who managed to escape included the real brother of Mashooq Brohi. Acting on a tip-off, team of the Anti-Violent Crime Unit raided a place in Ghazi Goth in the limits of Sachal police station and tried to intercept a white car.

The occupants of the car opened fire at the law enforcers and the police acted in retaliation and managed to arrest three suspects later identified as Mohammad Ibrahim, Mohammad Saeed and Abdullah. However, two of their accomplices Bahadur Brohi and Ghaus Brohi fled from the spot in the car.

Police recovered three pistols from their possession.
