Kidnapper arrested, boy recovered

FAISALABAD, Aug 2: Nishatabad police have nabbed a kidnapper and rescued a boy, said deputy inspector general (operations) Muhammad Aslam Khan Tareen. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said some motorcyclists had abducted seven-year old Muhammad Abdullah and four-year-old Noor Fatima, of Sherin Abad. The kidnapper demanded a Rs1 million ransom for their release. Later, they released the girl and kept the boy with them. They fixed various spots to collect ransom but did not turn up. Police traced the culprits through their cell phone calls and arrested accused Raza-i-Mustafa while receiving Rs600,000 ransom from the boy’s family. On his disclosure, the abducted boy was released from a house. Police also confiscated a motorcycle (FSM-5316) that was used in the abduction of children.

The DIG added police had also arrested Naeem involved in the murder of constable Abdur Rauf. He said police had also recovered a pistol from him while raids were on to arrest his accomplices. Rauf was shot dead near old GTS a few days ago.—APP
