KARACHI, March 10: A man died in a road accident in Shershah on late Saturday night.

The police said that the unidentified victim, who was in his mid-50s, was knocked down by an unknown vehicle near Piracha Chowk in Shershah. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

The body had been kept in the Edhi’s morgue for identification, the police said.

WOUNDED: An assistant superintendent of Karachi Central Prison was shot and wounded near the old Sabzimandi on Sunday.

The police said that Gul Hasan Lashari, aged 50, was passing near the Sabzimandi on a motorcycle when occupants of a white car sprayed him with bullets. He suffered at least four bullet wounds to his abdomen and legs. He had been admitted to Civil Hospital where he was stated to be in stable condition.

The police suspected old enmity to be the motive for the attack.
