US envoy calls on CM

LAHORE, Aug 1: Newly-appointed US Ambassador to Pakistan Anne W. Patterson on Wednesday called on Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi and discussed matters of mutual, national and political interest.

She said the existing cordial ties between Pakistan and America were fast growing. She said that Pakistan was an ally of America in the war on terror and was playing a commendable role.

The US ambassador, according to a Punjab government handout, appreciated the measures taken by the chief minister in education, health and other sectors in Punjab.

The ambassador also called on Governor Khalid Maqbool at Governor’s House.
