SRINAGAR, March 9: Three Indian policemen were among 12 people killed in occupied Kashmir on Friday night and Saturday.

The three policemen and two freedom fighters were killed in a massive firefight in the district of Doda, near the Line of Control, on Friday.

“Militants (Mujahideen) present in the area opened fire at advancing police personnel, killing three of them and injuring two others,” a police spokesman said in Srinagar.

Police fired back and killed two Mujahideen, the gunfight taking place in a village.

Two more Mujahideen were killed by Indian troops in a neighbouring village, the spokesman said.
