LAHORE, July 29: All major rivers in the country are flowing below the low flood level, except the Chitral River that is in a very high flow with inflow of 26,000 cusecs.
A Flood Forecasting Division (FFD) report said on Sunday the Kabul River at Adezai Bridge and the Shah Alam River at Tukhtabad were in medium flood.
It said a weak monsoon current from the Arabian Sea had reached Punjab up to 5,000 feet and rain was expected over Kashmir, northern Punjab along with Multan and Bahawalpur divisions.
“No major flooding is expected in the Indus River, while dams’ position is within safe limits,” said the FFD report. — APP
