KARACHI: Remand extended

KARACHI, July 29: The judicial magistrate, Central, on Saturday extended the remand of accused Akhtar Hussain Baloch, son of Mohammad Akbar, owner of a towel-dying and bleaching factory, in police custody till Aug 1.

The accused was produced before Judicial Magistrate A. Zahoor Chandio, who extended his remand on police request.

According to the FIR (359/07) registered at Taimuria police station under Sections 322/H-2 and 427 of the Pakistan

Penal Code, a boiler exploded in the factory on July 24, killing nine people and injuring 25 others.

The nominated accused, Akhtar Hussein Baloch, has been arrested while two boiler operators, Mohammad Ahsan and Mohammad Sohail, are at large.
