ISLAMABAD, July 28: An annual function of a private school at H-8 Sector was on Saturday postponed due to a rumour that a suicide bomber had entered the premises, sources told Dawn.

The management of Beaconhouse School received a telephone call at around 3pm in which the caller said a suicide bomber had entered the school building and would blow himself up.

The management immediately informed Rescue-15, which alerted the police station concerned and other departments. A large number of people including teachers and students were present inside the building at the time.

The Industrial Area police along with the bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and cordoned off the school. They also vacated the building and carried out a search. However, no suspect or any explosive material was found and the call was termed a hoax.
