HYDERABAD, March 9: Sanghar District Nazim Roshanuddin Junejo has expressed concern over the complaints of growers that agricultural loans were being sanctioned to industrialists as a result of which growers were being deprived of the loan facilities..
He was presiding over a meeting of the officials of several departments including the heads of the commercial banks in Sanghar the other day.
The district Nazim warned the bankers that no irregularity in this regard would be tolerated and directed them to ensure that the agricultural loans were given only to agriculturists.
He also took serious notice of the rampant irregularities in the distribution of funds to the poor people of the district under the food support programme.
He directed the in charge of the Baitul Mal to furnish a list of the deserving people in one week.
He said that the cases of irregularity in food support programme would be handed over to the anti-corruption establishment.
Mr Junejo also expressed concern over the irregularities in the distribution of irrigation water and said that the water rotation schedule was not being implemented in letter and spirit.
He directed the irrigation officials to provide water to the growers in according with the water distribution schedule.
BANNED: The district Nazim of Sanghar, under section 144 CrPC, has banned the operation of photostat machines in the district from 2pm to 5pm to check malpractice in the ongoing SSC I and II annual examinations.
The order will remain in force up to March 14.
