No salary for two months

Published July 27, 2007

OKARA, July 26: A large number of government employees, including schoolteachers, have not been paid salaries for the last two months due to feeding of wrong salary data in computers by untrained staff of the district accounts office.

Reports said that the salary structure of employees of health and education departments had been computerised throughout the district some two months back. But the error that developed in the salary amount of every employee since the very outset could not be corrected so far.

Although the high-ranking officials are being given salaries by keeping manual record, the rest of employees are denied salaries.

They have demanded that the government should take stock of the situation.

KILLED: The bailiff of a local court was killed after his motorcycle collided with a donkey cart near Chak 53/2-L on Thursday.

Rao Muhammad Ashfaq was on way to his office when the incident occurred.

B-Division police have registered a case.
